Like many authors, I read … a lot (or I used to before my twin granddaughters were born about six months ago!) 🙂 So when the folks at Shepherd asked me to share my three favorite reads of 2024, it was a tough choice. I’ve been trying to branch out recently into different genres and styles of writing, too, which made the decision even more difficult.
But after looking back at my list of read books, I came up with the three below. Read more about my reasons, samples and purchase links, as well as many other authors’ 2024 selections, at Shepherd.com. My list is here.
“The Hint of Light” by Kristin Kisska
This is a fantastic story about three generations and a long-held secret that nearly derails their family, deep with emotion and a big twist at the end, both of which I love. And I’m not alone in loving this story. It was a finalist for the 2023 Agatha Award! (Pretty impressive for a debut novel.)
“Weycombe” by G.M. Malliet
I chose this book from the library because of Malliet’s reputation as being an award-winning and best-selling mystery author. After devouring the novel, I understood why she earned her reputation. I couldn’t put the book down and have added G.M. to my list of must-read, favorite authors.
“Mayluna” by Kelley McNeil
This book wowed me. It left me wanting to turn back the characters’ clocks and change the paths of their lives. Fabulous story.
I hope you get a chance to check out these stories and more.
Wishing you many happy reading hours in 2025!
