Happy May!
May is my favorite month of the year. It’s usually a perfect temperature in the mid-Atlantic area where I live — not too hot, not too cold. May also means it’s time to plant, and although I don’t have the gift making things grow, I love the colors that blossom on trees, shrubs and in flower beds as I drive around the area.
In the middle of the month we celebrate our mothers and our armed forces, and at the end of the month we honor those who have fallen in service to our country. Memorial Day is also the official start of beach season!
And speaking of all things beach-y … 🙂 on June 12, I’ll be at the Peninsula Fine Arts Center in Newport News, sharing selected readings with fellow authors Elvy Howard, Terri Osburn and Felicia Mason. The theme of the night: Beach Reads. The evening begins at 6 p.m. If you’re in the area, we’d love for you to stop by!
In the meantime, enjoy May — its beauty and its special days.
