Hello and welcome to the first Six Sentence Sunday of February! I’ve been posting bits and pieces of my 2010 release, Surrender to Sanctuary, excerpts that show the growing relationship between my hero (David) and heroine (Anna). Last week Anna thought David might kiss her. This week (a day or so later in story time) David is trying to convince Anna (in his very male way) not to put herself in danger, and…well, read on.

It was a minute before she could speak over the pounding of her heart. “You’re trying to scare me, but it’s not working. I’m not afraid of you, David.”
“Yeah, well you should be.” He groaned, a sound that came from somewhere deep inside, and his hands gentled, at her wrists, her face. “What the hell,” he said under his breath just as his lips came down on hers.

Thanks, Gayle. 🙂 You know, I had never considered any part of this story to be “sweet” (it’s actually pretty gritty!), but I’d have to agree that David’s perception of what’s going on around him could be considered sweet. Thanks for stopping by!
I think that it’s both sweet and gritty…which is an excellent combination. Great six. 🙂
Thanks, Ranae! (I love the way you spell your name!)
Kind of sweet. 🙂
Woot! Go for it!
Hi, Dee….I see you’re a girl after my own heart. Believe me, they do. 🙂 Thanks for visiting!
It’s sweet and very griping, great six!
Hi, Stacia – Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!
Oh, sweet. I love that he tells her she should be afraid.
Hi, D’Ann. Yeah,he knows he’s feeling way more than he should for a woman who’s his partner! And he’s actually afraid himself. 🙂
Delicious six!
