And spring comes at last

Posted on April 24, 2016October 16, 2021

I don’t spend much time outside — too many writerly things to do on the weekend — but I was walking outside the other day (at the day job) and realized I was no longer wearing the heavy winter parka, gloves on my hands and scarf wrapped around half my head. In fact, I’d pared down to a light jacket…a spring jacket! I could move!

Spring has sprung in my part of the world. Trees and gardens are blossoming, birds are chirping, and kids are starting to ride bikes on the streets. And the temperatures….ahhhhh, relief….a blissful range of 60-70. Perfect. Humidity too is blissfully low.

It won’t last long around here where the summer temps hover in the 80s and 90s (and higher), and humidity jumps past the 50 percent range for a good five months of the year. But while the warm/dry weather is here, I’m going to enjoy it.

I hope wherever you are, you’re enjoying the weather and get to soak up some sun. Spring only comes once a year!
